DENVER (KDVR) — In the last couple of weeks, staff at Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children have seen an increase in the number of knock-off infant car seats that may not meet safety standards.Nurses inspect the car seats before a family takes their newborn home, and that is one way the knockoffs are being spotted. Denver nears housing oversupply, potential pricing drop: report Just last weekend, nurses saw one without a chest clip or hip straps."Because these fake car seats are missing some of these proper straps, they are missing the chest clip, in an accident the baby could come flying out of the car seat," said Kirsten Dehmlow, parent education coordinator.Dehmlow said families unknowingly buy the knockoffs at discounted prices through eBay or third-party sellers on other major sites, and they may not realize the seats don't meet safety standards."They are made to look like car seats that are a lot more expensive. Warmer, then wetter

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 15:20:52 GMT

We’ve “turned the page” in the recent weather story that’s been highlighted by a cold spell. For nearly a week, south Florida has been feeling chilly due to a cold connection with air from the north. Beginning Thursday, the weather map shows a front approaching Florida from the west (out of the Gulf). This is technically a cold front but without the cold air support. The boundary will basically send us a push of clouds but rain will be limited, at best. We’re only forecasting a slim chance for patchy light showers late Thursday (mainly near the Keys). Then, perhaps the best weather-day in sight will come on Friday. Temperatures will be comfortable with dry conditions and low humidity. It would be nice have Friday’s weather stick around for the upcoming weekend, but that’s not going to happen. There’s a high chance for added warmth (highs above 80-degrees) with developing downpours on Saturday. The latest model guidance shows ...

Haley calls out Trump ‘temper tantrums’ during two day New Hampshire tour

LONDONDERRY, N.H. — You can feel the difference between a Nikki Haley town hall held in July and one in January.A presidential rally with the former U.N. Ambassador in July, according to independent Granite State voter Marie Mulroy, felt like an underdog show. A half-attended longshot bid at a Washington D.C. side job or perhaps a tryout for the vice presidency.A packed, standing-room-only event at Game Changer Sports Bar and Grill held Wednesday was something else entirely, she said.“Things are different. This is different. She’s going for gold. She’s so close to victory she can smell it,” Mulroy told the Herald. The crowd is one example, she pointed out. When she first took a seat in the back of the restaurant’s large dining area, Mulroy was one of a few dozen people waiting to hear the former South Carolina governor speak. She had enough room to dance in place to the house music.By the time Haley took the stage, the Manchester resident was fighting for elbow room among hundr...
