With recreational marijuana now legal, 4/20 looked much different in Missouri

Lisa Thomas wandered into an outdoor market celebrating 4/20 on Cherokee Street in St. Louis — and ended up with her very first marijuana plant.Actually two of them. “I’m so excited,” she said. “I’ve never had a plant.”She and her husband Jerry had been passing by a tent showcasing trimming equipment for marijuana plants, and they were offered two free plants. A sales associate sent her home with his handwritten instructions on how to care for them, free bags of specialized soil and even offered her free grow lights. She started to hand Jerry one of the plants, but he said, “I ain’t walking down the street with that.”“It’s legal now,” she said laughing. “We’re in this together.” April 20, a day recognized globally for celebrating cannabis culture, looked a lot different in Missouri this year, with recreational use of marijuana now legal. While the Thomas’ were perusing the market outside, a group of women dressed in big hats and fancy gloves were having a private...Enforcement of Colorado’s new ban on abortion-reversal treatment put on hold

Colorado regulators and prosecuting attorneys will not enforce a newly passed ban on so-called abortion-reversal treatment until rules governing the medication are written, they announced in a court filing Thursday. It could be several months — possibly stretching into early fall — before the Colorado Medical Board and the state boards of pharmacy and nursing finalize those rules. The law, SB23-190, states that a health care provider is subject to discipline if they engage in medication abortion reversal, unless those boards find it is a generally accepted standard of practice. The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has said abortion medication reversal is not supported by science.Gov. Jared Polis signed the bill into law last week. It was immediately subject to a lawsuit by Bella Health and Wellness, an Englewood-based Catholic health care clinic. The clinic argued the law violates its First Amendment rights and religious freedoms, and that its immediate...Nuggets’ newfound attitude with a 2-0 lead? “Be selfish bastards,” Michael Malone says

Denver’s mission, which has been disseminated in numerous forms since seizing a 2-0 lead, is to get greedy.“Be selfish bastards,” Malone said.Up 2-0, the Nuggets have built themselves some margin for error in a lopsided first-round matchup.
